Profile: Representative Suzanne Harvey – Ward 2
NH House of Representatives
Representative Harvey will begin her 5th term in the 2017-2018 session. This will be Suzanne’s 2nd consecutive term. She also held this seat during the 2006 – 2010 sessions.
The Nashua Telegraph ran the following posting for Suzanne on October 25th, 2016:
“ I have lived in Nashua since 2001 with my husband of 29 years. I have one married son, two young grandsons, and my beloved 93-year-old mom, who has taught me the grief of Alzheimer’s.
My career in publishing included working on children’s books and magazines and as editor of a trade magazine about the pharmaceutical industry. Then as a project director, I worked with physicians and other health care providers on programs for continuing medical education.
I’ve served four House terms (2005-10, 2015-16), mostly on the Science, Technology & Energy Committee, where I was vice chairwoman for one term.
I ask my Ward 2 neighbors for their continued support for another term in the New Hampshire House. Among the many issues I’ve successfully focused on are a smarter use of energy, a cleaner environment, an increase in renewable energy in New Hampshire, and justice for victims of both human trafficking and domestic and sexual violence.
In the 2017-18 session, among the hundreds of bills we’ll vote on, I will support kindergarten through 12th-grade public education, permanent Medicaid expansion for 50,000 Granite Staters, paid medical leave, and an increase in the minimum wage.
I believe in a prepared, healthy workforce for a vibrant state and economy. I will also support sound economic development efforts, such as rail from Manchester and Nashua to Boston, to keep our youth here and to attract families to come live, work, and play in our great state.
